General principles of data protection
The Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Krebstherapie e.V. takes the protection of your data, which you have entrusted to us, very seriously. This is so-called "personal data", which is an asset particularly worthy of protection. As a non-profit association, we always treat your data confidentially and follow the existing legal rules on data protection.
We want you to know how we collect your data, which of your data is stored, why we do this, what we need it for, and when we delete it. This declaration is intended to provide you with a sufficient explanation of our data protection measures. Furthermore, we would like to inform you about your rights regarding your data with us. This statement is intended to explain to you in sufficient detail the data protection measures of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Krebstherapie e.V. If you have any questions that are not answered by this data protection declaration, please contact Dr. Rainer Scheer, who is responsible for the data protection of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Krebstherapie e.V. The contact details can be found at the end of this statement.
How do we collect your data? Which data do we collect, process, store and link? When do we delete them?
We only collect personal data directly from you, for example when you become a member of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Krebstherapie e.V. or when you support our work. The legal basis for these data collection is described in the Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) in Article 6 paragraph 1, more specifically in paragraph b (membership in our association as a contractual relationship) as well as in paragraph f (to safeguard and achieve our association goals). If you send the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Krebstherapie e.V. a signed application for membership or a SEPA direct debit mandate or transfer the membership fee or a donation to us, your data such as first name, surname, title, street with house number, postcode with place of residence and the country you come from will be stored as basic data. We need this basic data for the support service and administration of members, as well as for appeals for danations and for advertising in order to maintain and achieve our own goals (defined in the statutes). We also ask for your e-mail address and telephone number, where we can reach you. Both are voluntary information. You can revoke this voluntary data and its use at any time and without justification (see right of revocation).

Thus, your personal data will be deleted after termination of your membership, unless it has to be kept according to tax law requirements. With regard to your rights concerning your data, we will inform you in a later chapter of this declaration.
For what purpose do we need this data?

- to get in touch with you or to maintain contact with you. That is for example

- to send you your donation receipts,
- for sending appeals for donations and advertising to achieve the Society's own goals (defined in the statutes )
